Heather Dalwadi, PA-C

Heather Dalwadi, MS, PA-C, is a dedicated physician assistant who specializes in Endocrinology. She received a B.S. in Occupational Therapy and a B.A. in English Literature from the University of New Hampshire, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. Ms. Dalwadi then attended the University of New England where she received her Master of Science to become a physician assistant. She has been in practice since 2008, with the majority of her experience in endocrinology. She has a special interest in diabetes management, continuous glucose monitoring, polycystic ovarian syndrome, thyroid-related diseases, and osteoporosis. Ms. Dalwadi is an active member of the American Society of Endocrinology Physician Assistants (ASEPA) and is certified through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

Nicholas Argento, MD FACE

Nicholas B. Argento MD FACE attended Georgetown University and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Biology, then the University Of Maryland School Of Medicine and graduated Cum Laude. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolism at the University of Maryland Medical System. He joined Maryland Endocrine full time in 1991 and now serves as the diabetes technology director. He has a strong interest in type 1 diabetes (T1D), and has extensive experience in utilizing insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) to help patients safely achieve better blood glucose control. He has multiple publications in medical journals on different aspects of CGM use, and was co-author or contributor to multiple chapters in the 2013 American Diabetes Association book,Putting Your Patient on the Pump, 2nd edition and is first author on the 3rdedition, currently in press. He has presented clinical research at the American Diabetes Association Scientific Sessions and other medical meetings, and has spoken to local, national, and international audiences on insulin pumps and the clinical application of CGM technology. He is proud to be a fellow in the American College Endocrinology and is board certified in Diabetes Endocrinology and Metabolism.

Mark Corriere, MD, FACP

Dr. Corriere grew up in Ellicott City, Maryland. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame summa cum laude as part of the Navy ROTC program. He attended Washington University School of Medicine and then completed his internal medicine residency at the National Naval Medical Center Bethesda. He served on active duty and the reserves completing his service at the rank of Commander. His active duty assignments included Chief of Residents, staff internist at the Attending Physicians Office to the United States Congress and Supreme Court, and as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Uniformed Services University. Following his navy career, he completed fellowship training in Endocrinology and Diabetes at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Corriere is board certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. He has achieved Endocrine Certification in Neck Ultrasound from the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologist. He currently holds a faculty appointment as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.

Lynne A. Gaynes-Kaplan, MD

Dr. Lynne A. Gaynes-Kaplan completed her undergraduate studies at University of Rochester. She then graduated from the University of Southern California School of Medicine in 1978. She completed her internal medicine residency at University of Maryland Hospital followed by fellowship training in Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolism at the National Institutes of Health. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology. Dr Gaynes has also served as the President of the Medical Staff at Laurel Regional Hospital, Laurel, Maryland. She has special interest in diabetes, thyroid and polycystic ovarian disease.

Geetika Gupta, MD

Dr. Gupta was born and raised in the state of Punjab, in northern India. She completed medical school with honors at Dayanand Medical College, one of the leading medical schools of northern India. She then moved to the United States with her family to pursue further training. In 2016, Dr. Gupta completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the Advent Health, Orlando, Florida. She served as chief resident in her final year. In 2018, she completed her fellowship in Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism at Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts. After being a practicing Endocrinologist for almost 5 years in Connecticut, she relocated to Maryland to be closer to her family. She evaluates and treats all Endocrine problems, with a special interest in diabetes and thyroid conditions.

Elizabeth Jenkins, MD

Dr. Jenkins received her BA in Biology at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. She then went to the University of Virginia and completed her medical degree. She did Internal Medicine residency at the University of Rochester, and then returned to Maryland to complete Endocrinology fellowship at the University of Maryland. After that, she joined Maryland Endocrine and practiced with the group for 6 years. She then moved to Norfolk, VA and served as faculty at Eastern Virginia Medical School. She returned to Maryland and is very happy to rejoin Maryland Endocrine. Dr. Jenkins’ interests include diabetes management, thyroid disorders, and general endocrinology.

Heidi Karon, MD

Dr. Heidi Karon received a B.S. in Biology from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. She received her medical degree from the University of Maryland at Baltimore. She completed a residency in Internal Medicine at University of Maryland Medical Center, where she went on to complete her fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. Dr. Karon is Board Certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. Her interests include endocrine issues during pregnancy, polycystic ovarian syndrome, and thyroid disease.

David Levitt, MD

Dr. David Levitt grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland. He received a B.S. in Physiology and Neurobiology from the University of Maryland-College Park. He received his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine residency and fellowship training in Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolism at the University of Maryland Medical Center. He has special interest in diabetes, continuous glucose monitoring, thyroid disease, and osteoporosis.

Sergio Lizama-Hernandez, MD

Dr. Sergio Lizama-Hernandez (he/him/his) grew up in the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico. He received his medical degree from Universidad Anahuac before completing his Internal Medicine residency at St. Agnes Healthcare in Baltimore, and his Endocrinology fellowship at University of Maryland Medical Center. During fellowship, he collaborated in multicenter trials to study the use of continuous glucose monitors in the inpatient clinical setting, and considers himself an ally for the LGBTQ+ community. He has a specialized interest in personal care and interprofessional collaboration to help treat patients with a diverse, and often complex, set of endocrine ailments and determinants of health, to mitigate barriers and improve outcomes. His interests include gender affirming hormone therapy/transgender medicine, obesity/weight management, male hypogonadism, diabetes mellitus, osteoporosis, and thyroid-related disease.

Javza Natsag, MD

Dr. Javza Natsag received her medical degree from Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. She attended to Osaka University in Japan and received Ph.D. in Radiology. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the MedStar Harbor Hospital in Baltimore, MD, and served as Chief Medical Resident during her final year in residency. She finished her fellowship training in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD. Dr. Natsag is board certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. Her interests include diabetes, thyroid disease, osteoporosis and other endocrine disorders.
