Fifty Whole30 Compliant Recipes for Your New Year! (1)

For those of you who are, like me, completely burned out on sugar, carbs, and Christmas (despite your husband’s insistence on continuing to listen to Christmas music even days after the holiday is over) – it’s time for a reset. I finished up a round of Whole30 back in September that made me feel amazing. Though I haven’t shown you before and after photos, I can tell you the difference was astounding. I wasn’t a believer until I saw it. But after our two week vacation where I never ate anything resembling a vegetable, and then got smacked up side the head with the holidays, it’s time.

Grab all of these 50 recipes to help you make your new year’s resolutions a success. And be sure to check out my 10 Things That Will Make Whole30 Bearable so you can get the basics down ahead of time! So many of these are great to prepare ahead of time and eat through the week just to make sure you stay on track. You can make this a success, I know it!

Tag me in your instagrams, insta-stories, or tweets or snaps as you go through the process. Let’s build a support system out of this and rock this month. Even if we want to kill someone for eating a brownie in front of us. 😉 Or especially so we don’t kill anyone eating a brownie in front of us.

The Homesick Texan Brisket is not Whole30 compliant. It has both molasses and sour cream in it.

    • Megan

I’m sorry, it meant to include a note to omit the molasses and not use the sour cream sauce. It does now.

FAQs

Can you eat potatoes on Whole30? ›

Are Potatoes Whole30? Yes! As of January 2021, all varieties of potatoes are included in the Whole30 diet. Yet, the catch is that fries and chips are not included in the diet as they are not considered to be “real” or whole foods.

Can you eat oatmeal on Whole30? ›

When you're on Whole30, toast, cereal, and oatmeal won't fly. But that doesn't mean you have to eat a plate of boring scrambled eggs each and every day. These casseroles, egg cups, breakfast stacks, and more will have you looking forward to your morning meal—and full way beyond your morning commute.

Can you eat bacon on Whole30? ›

You can also eat processed meats as long as they don't include any artificial preservatives or added sugars. So when your bacon craving strikes, stick to sugar-free uncured bacon. A hearty meat-based stew with some nutrient-rich avocado makes a great Whole30® meal.

Do you lose weight on Whole30? ›

That said, plenty of people who try the Whole30 diet do end up losing some weight. “The benefit of Whole30 is that it encourages eating whole foods, which are foods in their most natural state,” says Sara Haas, RDN, a nutrition expert with formal training in the culinary arts.

Can I eat bananas on Whole30? ›

What about bananas? Yes, both pickles and bananas are allowed on Whole30. Yet if they are a potential trigger food for you (for instance, the sweetness of bananas sets off a craving for other treats or makes you want to binge on the fruit), then you may consider including them on your “don't eat” list.

Can you eat peanut butter on Whole30? ›

Though peanuts and peanut butter aren't allowed on the Whole30 program, other nuts and nut butters are. Cashew butter is loaded with nutrients like healthy fats, magnesium, manganese, and copper.

Is canned tuna OK for Whole30? ›

Canned tuna – If you are on a Whole30, just double-check the ingredients. A lot of canned tuna contains soy (look for the “CONTAINS SOY” disclaimer below the ingredients), which is not Whole30 compatible. My Walmart has a store brand that is compatible, as well as I can find it fairly affordably at Winco.

Can you have popcorn on Whole30? ›

CAN YOU EAT POPCORN ON WHOLE30? No — popcorn is made from a whole grain (dried corn AKA popcorn kernels), and grains are eliminated on the Whole30 diet.

What happens after 30 days of Whole30 diet? ›

According to the official Whole30® website, once those 30 days are up, it's up to you to “carefully and systematically reintroduce those foods you've been missing”.

What deli meat is Whole30 approved? ›

Our Applegate Organics® Roast Beef, Applegate Naturals® Prosciutto, and the majority of our carrageenan-free poultry deli meats are Whole30 Approved®. You can click here to view a current list of our Whole30 Approved® deli meats.

What is the best meat for Whole30? ›

Ideally, you should buy meat that is organic and beef that is grass-finished, but ultimately, pretty much any non-processed meat is on the table: beef, chicken, turkey, pork, lamb, duck, you name it. Bacon, cold cuts, or other processed meats are no-nos.

Can I have almond milk on Whole30? ›

It's got only four ingredients: water, organic almonds, organic acacia gum, and sea salt. You've seen this in literally every grocery store, and now you know: Yes, you can drink it while doing Whole30. Silk's unsweetened vanilla carton is fair game, too.

Why do I feel so bad on Whole30? ›

In the first week or so on the Whole30 diet, your body is adjusting, physically and psychologically, which can lead to needing some major down-time. Around day six is when exhaustion and cravings typically hit their hardest, Hartwig says. That's because your body has been so reliant on using sugar, not fat, for energy.

Which day of Whole30 is the hardest? ›

Mentally and emotionally, we call Days 10 and 11 “the hardest days.” This is when you are statistically the most likely to quit your Whole30.

What are the cons of the Whole30 diet? ›

The cons of Whole30:
  • Very restrictive, which may make eating out or socializing difficult.
  • May be difficult to get adequate calcium for bone health.
  • Restricts many cultural foods.
  • May be time intensive due to food label reading, meal planning and meal prep.

Why are white potatoes allowed on Whole30? ›

The discussion of white potatoes began about a year ago amongst our team and valued advisors, and the debate raged hard and long. White potatoes are a whole, real, nutrient-dense food! It doesn't make logical sense to leave them out while other carb-dense foods like taro, yuca, or sweet potato are allowed.

Are Yukon Gold potatoes Whole30 compliant? ›

All varieties of potatoes—white, red, Yukon gold, purple, fingerling, baby, sweet potatoes, yams, etc. —are compatible on the Whole30. Feel free to boil, bake, roast, pan-fry, grill, microwave, or steam them, but no store-bought potato chips or restaurant French fries!
