This is one of those recipes that tastes just like a Starbucks' pumpkin spice latte but it is healthier and so much more affordable! Why spend $6 on a latte when you can make a healthy pumpkin spice latte for just pennies at home?
I love coffee always and especially a great keto latte. A couple more of my keto diet faves are my Starbucks Skinny Vanilla Latte, as well as mySnickerdoodle Lattetoo.
Ingredients
You'll need just four simple ingredients from the grocery store to make and start enjoying this low carb pumpkin spice latte.
Strong Brewed Coffee - Any flavor or type will do but pick one with a bold and robust flavor. If you have an espresso machine you can use a shot of espresso or two in place of the brewed hot coffee.
Half and Half - This is a combination of milk and cream that is common in the United States. You can also use heavy cream or heavy whipping cream if you'd prefer.
Joy-Filled Eats Sweetener - This is the sweetener that I use for all my baking needs.
Pumpkin Spice - Adding this gives that pumpkin pie spice flavor!
Sugar-Free Sprinkles - This is optional but makes it fun to drink.

How to Make this Keto Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe
My 12 year old does love coffee so I make her one with decaf as a special treat sometimes. When my other kids drink this recipe, I give them a tiny amount of the coffee, and they add a lot of the cream and sprinkles! (It's how many adults drink their morning coffee as well - a little bit of coffee with a lot of creamer!). We do try to use keto creamer though.
Since this homemade pumpkin spice latte recipe literally takes just two minutes to make, this is one that I love knowing that I can whip up anytime I have the craving! Of course, I'd drink this any time of the year, but it's always fun and festive beverage to have during fall.
Step One: Start by gathering all your ingredients and making sure that you have everything. There's nothing worse than starting a recipe only to find out that you're missing something important that you need.
Step Two: Whisk together the half and half, sweetener, and spice in your mug of choice. Then pour in the strong coffee. This helps you get a little foam on top without a milk frother or immersion blender. If you love vanilla extract add a few drops at this point too.
Expert Tip: If you do want to maximize the foam on top blend the half and half for a minute or so with the pumpkin spice.
Step Three: Once you've filled your mug to where you want, top with some whipped cream and add the sprinkles!
Variations
Pumpkin Chai Latte - Swap out the coffee for chai tea to make a pumpkin tea latte.
Dairy-Free - For a dairy-free PSL sub in unsweetened almond milk, unsweetened coconut milk, full-fat coconut milk, or coconut cream. A low fat milk sub will not make this as creamy as a fully fat milk sub. In that case you can add coconut oil and blend it like a bulletproof coffee.
Iced - To make an iced pumpkin spice latte simply brew and chill the coffee before proceeding. I recommend making keto simple syrup to sweeten iced beverages.
Common Questions
IsPumpkin Spice Latte Keto?
Most are not. If you walk into any coffeehouse and order a regular pumpkin spice latte it is probably full of carbs and sugar syrup. The average one contains 50 grams of sugar, including 32 grams of added sugar. In contrast, all the grams of carbs in this keto recipe are naturally occurring in the half and half. The total carbs are just 2.8 for a 10 ounce serving.
Where can I find sugar-free sprinkles?
I buy my sprinkles from The Sprinkle Company on Etsy. Nicole makes them by hand in the United States. They are pricier than regular sugary sprinkles but you really only need a pinch for the same effect. That little container pictured can garnish dozens of PSLs. Even with the cost of the sprinkles, this is much cheaper than buying Starbucks pumpkin spice lattes.
Don't I need pumpkin puree?
I think the pumpkin spice mix gives this copycat starbucks psl pumpkin flavor without adding any puree to the keto pumpkin latte. If you want to stir in a little pumpkin puree feel free.
How do I make homemade pumpkin spice?
If you don't have any store-bought pumpkin spice in your cabinets, you can easily make your own. Just create a homemade pumpkin pie spice mixture using nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon, allspice, and cloves.
You can then store this in a glass jar and keep it with the rest of your spices to use again in your keto recipes.
Can you add other toppings to a latte?
Absolutely. Just make sure that whatever you're adding goes along with the rest of the drink being sugar free and low carb.
Adding a dash of cinnamon on top is excellent and even topping with some unsweetened coconut flakes, too.
How do you store a leftover latte?
Once you make this, you may find that you have a bit leftover. It needs to be kept cold and in the fridge until it's ready to be enjoyed again.
Keep in mind that the half and half (or creamer) may separate a bit in this keto pumpkin spice latte recipe, so you'll want to be certain that you stir it well before drinking it the next time.
What is the difference between a latte and a mocha?
A latte is actually not quite as strong in coffee addition or flavoring as a mocha. A mocha usually has more caffeine because it uses more robust coffee or even espresso in the recipe. (They're both super delicious, though!)
Are lattes hot or cold drinks?
They're either! Typically at a coffee shop, a latte will be on the menu as a hot drink but can be ordered cold as well.
This recipe for a keto pumpkin spice latte is meant to be enjoyed at room temperature (aka right when you make it) or cold from the fridge.

To sub inSwerveorLakanto Monk Fruituse 1.5 times the amount of sweetener called for.
