Track shoes (also called track pads or track shoes plates) are metal plates bolted to links in order to provide the contact point between the ground and a track chain, providing traction and flotation in excavators, bulldozers, cranes and drilling machines.
Berch track shoes are manufactured with heavy duty rolled steel profiles, then undergo hardening and stress relieving processing in order to ensure the wear, high strength, and resistance to bending and breakage for a longer track pad life that customers have come to rely on.

Track shoes are critical components on bulldozers used for mining. They are designed to prevent bending and breaking, even when operating on hard rock, boulders and other rough terrain.

Track shoes provide the working platform for the machine. Track shoes penetrate the ground giving the machine traction to move. Proper shoe selection is very important for better machine performance and longer undercarriage life. The narrowest shoe possible that allows adequate floatation should always be selected.
Single Grouser Shoes provide good penetration and traction. Double Grouser Shoes offer less turning resistance for greater maneuverability. Triple Grouser Shoes offer the lowest penetration and resistance and best maneuverability.
Track spikes, or just spikes, are a type of footwear featuring protruding spikes on the soles used by athletes when racing on the track. Some spikes are designed for longer-term training on tracks, but generally the shoes are used for racing.
Outsole. The outsole is the layer of foam on the bottom of your running shoe. The outsole is typically made of rubber and provides grip and traction on the road.
A ripper is the extended attachment located at the rear of the bulldozer that resembles a claw. Rippers are used to break up land to allow agriculture to grow or break down rock and earth to be moved. You can find both single-shank rippers and multi-shank rippers depending on your project needs.
Ripper. A ripper is a long, claw-like shank that may be mounted singly or in multiples on the rear of a bulldozer to loosen hard and impacted materials. Usually a single shank is preferred for heavy ripping.
Most road shoes will have a mesh upper, with tiny holes, to allow heat to escape from the feet and keep them comfortable. A well fitted shoe should also have mesh which is strong enough to withstand the demands placed on it through running, for the duration of the shoe's useful life.
The purpose of racing flats is to make running more efficient and faster. They are lighter than other running shoes while providing less heel lift and support, allowing the body's biomechanics to do their best work.
Double Grouser: Has two grousers on the track shoes. These might provide less traction, depending on the surface, but have increased maneuverability. Triple Grouser: This type is designed with three spikes, which can be gentler on the driving surface.
The grouser refers to the protrusion on a track shoe which directly engages the ground. Grousers are intended to increase the traction of tracked machines, especially in loose material such as soil or snow.
This is the most common shoe configuration among excavator manufacturers; the level of penetration exhibited by this class is the lowest among those with claws; as a result, this type is ideal for performing work on soft soils by improving the equipment's maneuverability to execute turns.
While you don't need special shoes for running on a track, if you're going to be primarily on a track, it's worth looking into. Track shoes are generally lighter than road shoes to allow for maximum speed. They may provide less cushioning as a result but if you're running on a track, you have a softer surface.
Shoes for Throw Events or Jump Events will be very different from shoes designed for the running events. For example, not all track and field shoes need spikes. Throw shoes designed for the Discus, Hammer, and Shotput feature either Smooth or Textured outsoles based on the thrower's technique.
In addition, road shoes usually have a wider, more comfortable toe box, while trail shoes generally fit closer to the foot to maximize precision and control when trying to move quickly over technical, uneven terrain.
If you are new to track & field, you will probably wonder if you even need track spikes. Track spikes are not a requirement to run on a track. You can wear normal running shoes or trainers to practice and race in, but if you want to have a competitive edge, track spikes will surely provide that.
