the CCC Office Team is only active in a coordinating role and cannot make appointments for medical examinations. Without exception, patients are cared for in the corresponding special oncology outpatient departments.

The Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCC) Vienna of MedUni Vienna and the University Hospital Vienna aims to promote the establishment of patient representatives and groups.
With their help it should be ensured

- that patients receive the necessary support outside the hospital as well
- that the population is made aware of the disease and its consequences, and
- that the rights of those affected are also adequately represented at the political level.

Breast cancer screening

With a share of 30 percent, breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in Austria. On average, 5000 women are newly diagnosed with this disease every year. Breast cancer accounts for 15 percent of all deaths between the ages of 35 and 64. Early detection of breast cancer improves the possibility of treatment and the chance of cure. Breast cancer screening is the only evidence-based screening method that has been shown to contribute to a significant reduction in breast cancer morbidity and mortality.

Professional counselling of patients and their relatives serves to support individual competences, as counselling, information and training are useful elements to promote personal skills. Our counsellors prepare you for a problem-solving process that is tailored to your needs so that you can cope with a crisis situation on your own.
The aim is to preserve or restore your autonomy in everyday life. In doing so, we draw on your self-help skills, potentials and personal resources.

Clinical Practical Year (KPJ)

The Comprehensive Cancer Center Vienna offers training in "Interdisciplinary Oncology" as part of the third tertial of the Clinical Practical Year. Prerequisite for application is proof that at least one of the other two tertials (Tertial A or Tertial B) has already been completed. Clinical Practical Year (KPJ)
